Beyond the Dental Chair: Dr. Rajat Miglani’s Journey of Care and Entrepreneurship

Dr. Rajat Miglani’s journey in dentistry began with a fascination for medicine and science and a desire to work in a profession that could make a real difference in people’s lives. After completing his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Government Dental College, Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences, Rohtak, he began building his career as a dental surgeon.
Dentistry taught Dr. Rajat patience, precision, discipline and the responsibility that comes with a patient’s trust. As his experience grew, he wanted to create a clinic where ethical treatment, transparency, personal attention and genuine patient care remained central. This vision took shape in 2012 with the founding of Rajat Dental Care in Rohtak.
For Dr. Rajat, entrepreneurship was never about leaving medicine behind. It was about giving his medical career a larger sense of ownership. His dental practice provides treatment for several dental conditions, including restorative dentistry, scaling, extractions, root canal treatment and fixed and removable prosthesis. Running an independent clinic also taught him that being a doctor involves much more than diagnosis and treatment. Equipment, medicines, costs, staff and the complete patient experience all demand attention.
His association with Costing of Health Studies in different states of India under HTAIn and Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana gave him another perspective. His work involved gathering ground level information about the actual costs involved in medical procedures and healthcare delivery. The experience introduced him to healthcare research, medical costing and the economics of running a healthcare practice. That knowledge later became useful in managing Rajat Dental Care.
Patient trust has remained central to the growth of the clinic. Dr. Rajat does not view people who visit him as customers. They come with discomfort, anxiety and expectations, and place their health in a doctor’s hands. Much of the practice grew through patient relationships and word of mouth, with people returning years later or bringing their families.
Dr. Rajat also believes that a doctor entrepreneur must keep learning. Medicine, technology and patient expectations continue to change, making discipline, attention to detail, adaptability and curiosity necessary qualities. His work in community oral cancer screening and public awareness has added a social dimension to his professional journey.
His long term aim is simple: to make Rajat Dental Care better without compromising ethics or patient care. For him, meaningful success comes from building professional credibility, caring for patients and using medical knowledge to make another person’s life a little better.
