Manish Jain: Providing Meaningful Financial Protection

For Manish Jain, the journey into insurance began during his graduation in 2006, when he had the choice of taking Banking and Insurance or Tours and Travel as an additional subject. He chose Insurance, and soon after got an opportunity to work as an intern with an insurance company. That early experience gave him an understanding of the industry, but a personal incident in 2007 made him understand the real importance of financial protection.

An accident in his family brought insurance much closer to home. An advocate filed the case and the family received compensation along with financial assistance through insurance. The experience made Manish understand how financial protection can help a family during difficult times. It also introduced him to the idea of Human Life Value, where a person's life can never truly be measured in money, but financial protection can help secure the future of those who depend on them. These experiences eventually led him to build Tirthankar Prime Distributors LLP with a focus on helping individuals and families protect their financial future.

The early years were not easy. Manish soon understood that entering the insurance industry could be easy, but staying and growing in it was much harder. As a fresher, he had to earn the confidence of people who often preferred experienced advisors. Another challenge came from the fact that many insurance advisors did not remain in the profession for more than two years, making potential clients cautious about trusting new advisors.

This pushed Manish to think beyond simply selling policies. He felt insurance planning should begin with understanding a person's income, responsibilities, lifestyle, dependents and future financial needs. At Tirthankar Prime Distributors LLP, the focus became adequate insurance protection for every family. Instead of only looking at a lump sum amount, the team considers how insurance can help replace a family's annual income when its primary earning member is no longer available.

Manish believes that every client requires a different insurance plan. He often explains this through a simple example: “just as all fingers are different in size and shape, one ring cannot fit every finger.” His team first studies the client's active income, financial goals, responsibilities, existing protection and budget before suggesting suitable insurance. The aim is to help people understand how much protection they actually require rather than simply choosing a policy because it is available.

He also points out that one of the common mistakes people make is not sharing complete information while purchasing insurance. Medical history, lifestyle habits and family medical history can all matter during underwriting. Buying a policy without understanding its purpose can also create problems. For Manish, insurance should be a well informed financial decision based on actual needs and responsibilities, not something purchased because of pressure or obligation.

Technology has also changed the way Tirthankar Prime Distributors LLP serves its clients. The business can now connect with people across the globe and provide quicker service. With technology and automation, the company manages more than 12,000 insurance policies, including timely renewals. Documentation, communication, servicing and records can also be handled more smoothly across different locations. Yet Manish believes technology should remain a tool for better service, not a replacement for personal relationships.

Trust remains central to his work. Insurance deals directly with the financial future of clients and their families, so honesty, transparency and continued service matter long after a policy is sold. Manish and his team believe their responsibility continues through renewals, servicing and

moments when clients need help.

One client experience particularly stayed with him. During his third year in insurance, he met a 52 year old man who wanted protection for only 10 years. The client had taken a loan and invested his savings in starting a factory. His concern was simple: “What if something happens to me before the loan is repaid?” Years later, his company was listed on the stock exchange, and he had no debts. For Manish, the experience showed how insurance can serve a very specific need during an important stage of a person's financial journey.

Manish now wants to contribute to greater financial literacy among earning members and breadwinners. He believes adequate insurance and financial planning can help families avoid severe financial hardship during emergencies. His goals also connect with Viksit Bharat 2047, with financially aware families forming part of a stronger India.

His message to young professionals is direct: “trust takes years to build but only a moment to break.”

He believes business should be built through honesty, transparency and genuine service, with long term relationships taking priority over short term gains. For Manish, success is not measured only through profits, but also through the difference a business can make in people's lives.
