SeenWithAnjali: Anjali Talreja’s Journey Towards Ethical and Accessible Mental Health Care
Anjali Talreja, founder of SeenWithAnjali, has built her professional journey around a question she has carried since childhood: why do people think, feel and behave the way they do? Her interest in understanding human behaviour grew from her own experiences of isolation, bullying and difficulty finding the right guidance while growing up. Having struggled to find a therapist who could help her, she became increasingly determined to understand psychology and the importance of accessible, ethical mental health care.

For Anjali, these experiences were not easy, but they shaped the work she does today. She understands that people often carry experiences that others cannot see, and that being labelled by a particular problem can make someone feel reduced to a single part of their identity. This understanding became central to SeenWithAnjali, her private psychology practice.
The name has a personal meaning. Anjali believes a person experiencing anxiety, stress or relationship difficulties is much more than the issue they bring into therapy. SeenWithAnjali aims to offer a confidential, judgement free space where individuals can understand themselves beyond labels, acknowledge their vulnerabilities and reconnect with who they are.
Her work covers individual therapy, couples and marital therapy, family therapy and group therapy. She also works with concerns involving self esteem, self image, grief, boundaries, abandonment, abuse, relationships, food and sleep. Her practice considers how emotional experiences affect everyday life, including a person's relationship with their body and the people around them.
Anjali believes that therapy is not a one size fits all experience. Different psychologists work with different therapeutic methods, and the relationship between a client and therapist matters too. When someone feels that therapy has not helped in the past, she encourages them to consider whether the professional, therapeutic method or personal connection was right for them. She also believes clients should be guided towards other qualified professionals when additional help is needed.
Building an independent psychology practice comes with challenges beyond client sessions. Anjali has repeatedly reconsidered her social media presence because she wants mental health awareness to reach ordinary people rather than only fellow therapists. She is particularly firm about confidentiality, informed consent and ethical communication. For her, sharing identifiable client stories or testimonials raises serious concerns about privacy. She believes professional responsibility must come before online attention.
Her experiences with clients have also changed how she understands personal growth. She considers small steps meaningful achievements, whether someone applies for a job, prepares a meal independently, considers further education or feels ready to travel again. These moments can signal a person's growing awareness and willingness to make changes in their life.

Anjali also believes that understanding another person's perspective does not require abandoning one's own needs. Healthy boundaries are essential, even when setting them changes relationships or leads to difficult losses. Healing, she believes, can involve grieving relationships and finding healthier connections along the way.
Through SeenWithAnjali, she hopes to make ethical mental health care more accessible and eventually build a team of therapists who are fairly paid for their work. She also plans to pursue further certifications and conduct awareness based workshops to help people understand that seeking professional help is not something to be ashamed of.
For Anjali, the purpose is not simply to help people talk about their problems. It is to help them understand themselves, make informed choices and seek appropriate care without fear of judgement. Her message is simple: mental health concerns should not be measured against someone else's difficulties. When something affects a person's daily life, seeking guidance from a qualified psychologist is a worthwhile step towards better wellbeing.
